چکیده
Partial splenic embolization (PSE) through radial artery utilizing 5 Fr. 125 cm catheter and 1.9 150 or 1.7 165 microcatheter has been conducted in six liver cirrhosis patients with splenomegaly. After inserting the catheters into artery, gelatin sponge particle and/or pushable coil was performed peripheral branches. removing sheath, a compression wristband utilized to stem bleeding punctuated region. Patients were able move immediately following treatment did not require any bed rest. In all, 65%-80% of spleen's volume embolized effectively, no adverse events occurred during procedure. Our data demonstrated technique could bring safe satisfactory results for PSE less discomfort after method.

Clinical Application of Partial Splenic Embolization
Partial splenic embolization (PSE) is one of the intra-arterial therapeutic approaches of diseases. With the development of interventional radiology, the applications of PSE in clinical practice are greatly extended, while various materials are developed for embolization use. Common indications of PSE include hypersplenism with portal hypertension, hereditary spherocytosis, thalassemia, autoimm...
متن کاملEmbolization of a Giant Splenic Artery Aneurysm
Background: Splenic artery aneurysms (SAA) are the most frequent visceral artery aneurysms. Large and symptomatic aneurysms have an increased risk for rupture and should be treated interventionally or surgically. Methods: We describe the case of a 44-year-old male patient with a possibly mycotic splenic artery aneurysm of approximately 12 cm in diameter. Results: As a result of a consensus in a...

Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen is a reliable method for evaluation of spleen injuries and has the potential to exclude further abdominal injuries. Blunt and penetrating injuries of the spleen have to be managed immediately due to a high mortality rate. Two therapeutical options, conservative or operative, are currently available. In general, a hemodynamic stable patient, no further inj...
متن کاملPartial splenic embolization for refractory thrombocytopenia
When the platelet count falls below 20×10(9)/L, the risk of spontaneous life threatening hemorrhage is concerning for both physician and patient. When medical management fails, splenectomy is often used to manage the severe thrombocytopenia before spontaneous, life-threatening gastrointestinal or intracranial bleeding occurs. We present the non surgical management of such a patient with refract...

Fever uncontrolled by paracetamol is a common and disturbing issue to many parents. Current evidence does not show any significant benefit from sponging which on the contrary may cause discomfort to the child [1]. Similarly, simple febrile convulsions do not require routine administration of anticonvulsants. Cough remedies in the form of variously concocted antitussives and mucolytics are no be...
